Hey guys. I thought I would post about my own project that I'm working on currently. As you can tell, just recently I decided to undertake my own project. One of which I have never taken of both this kind and size--building a roughly approximate 1:1 scale of an AT-AT by Minecraft standards. Of course I may be doing it completely wrong (math was never my best subject in school anyway...ahem) and I'm not entirely certain but I believe one block is one meter (I remember reading that before but correct me if I'm wrong). Using the measurements found on Wookipedia, and this picture as a rough guide ( atatcostume.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/at-at-Image1.gif), I started my project this afternoon. So far, I'm mainly just setting up the frame of the AT-AT using dirt. Eventually I'll be doing it in stone (not cobblestone, but regular stone), I'm not sure how well this will turn out as I've never really tried building a whole lot, especially things like this. If you're wondering where my project is located, all you need to do is follow the rails to Old Chocolate/Uncharted Islands. You can't miss it.

Wow! That sounds like it's going to take a lot of material and time. Good luck with it!

Yeah, today was my second day to be working on it and it was all still working on the frame of it. And as I kind of figured, I think the head is going to be the hardest of all of it to get just the way I like. I'm kind of wondering if I should make it a little bigger before I officially start putting the stone in. I think I've used up all (or at least just about) of the stacks of dirt I had in my chest.
It may not quite be 1:1, we'll see how it comes out first I suppose and worry about that later.

Sure It's kind of a bit of a mess right now with the "scaffolding" about and everything, but it's the general idea so far. It''s a work in progress. 1) tinyurl.com/85nxpj2 - This was when I first started building the frame 2) tinyurl.com/7wbqg5h - Same shot from the other side 3) tinyurl.com/7b9cs96 - This was an early form that I have since upgraded a bit. 4) tinyurl.com/73qfs3w - A shot of the beginnings of the head 5) tinyurl.com/7gz2hvn - Today. This is the somewhat elongated version of the earlier version 6) tinyurl.com/7s7qh7m - From the other side 7) tinyurl.com/85scmy6 - The view of what will be the inside of the main body 8) tinyurl.com/7mosuw3 - In the head looking through what will be the windows 9) tinyurl.com/7ggl499 - Looking down from the very top Also, it's probably not really 1:1 (at least not the way I was thinking/going by with what I have so far). But whatever. I'm not quite sure how the scaling system iin MC exactly works, tbh. I probably should >_>. Oh well, sooner or later perhaps I'll make a lot bigger.

Thanks! I'm glad people seem to like it so far. I had someone (a new player I think?) come out to the Uncharted Islands just a few minutes ago and asked me if that's what I was building. I'm glad it's at least recognizable so far. Here's my AT-AT as of right now at around 7 am this morning (I messed up the link for one or two of my previous ones, but this should work right): 1) tinyurl.com/842nluqI checked how many blocks wide and long it was this morning, so as of right now the dimensions in Minecraft terms are: 20 blocks high, 10 blocks wide, and 42 blocks long. I found on another site its width (which I wasn't sure of) was 7.9 meters, which is about 23 or so feet. So if I'm going to do this in the 1 block = 1 meter scale, the (approx.) equivalent is currently 60 feet high, 30 feet long, and 126 feet long in Minecraft standards. But of course that's in what I just said. I'm considering making it a little taller. To kind of make the dimensions a bit more rounded and whatnot, but I can't decide if I want to or not. One thing I'm definitely doing is moving the hind legs over just a block or two.

Here's an update for you all on my AT-AT (code name: "The Elephant" ) since I actually just did a tiny bit of work on it. I decided to make it 17 blocks taller to kind of keep it (hopefully) proportionate. When it's all said and done, I just want it to come out as nice as possible and all. Morning Picture: tinyurl.com/7va44fbIn this picture, you can see I put up the corners (of this side, at least). Of course everything else will have to "come up" some as well, but that will be a later headache. Also, just because, here's another picture. It's the same shot, but with my character in the frame as well. For the first time ever since I started playing Minecraft, I have changed my player's skin to....a very fitting look given the circumstances. tinyurl.com/72v8sfn That's right. I've joined the Dork Dark Side of the Force! Also, since I think Safety said he didn't know who he was (he probably does but forgot), I offer you this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUrNu8lItu0www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zn94j5F5YLcwww.youtube.com/watch?v=_8d0ffaO0MsEnjoy.

It appears your AT-AT has a penis. I don't think it's supposed to be like that. And no. I didn't do it.
